Brighton College ornate fire door package

Designed and manufactured as a completely bespoke solution, this project involved a pair of automatic fire-rated bronze doors measuring approximately four metres high by six metres wide, created for the auditorium at Brighton College.
The design featured solid machined bronze handles, a bespoke display head panel, and an oxidised antique bronze finish, delivering a striking architectural statement while meeting stringent fire safety requirements. As a one-off design, the doors required extensive technical development to balance aesthetics, functionality, automation, and fire performance.
Working closely with the project's fire officer, we developed and submitted a comprehensive technical proposal to demonstrate compliance with the required fire safety standards, ultimately securing Building Control approval for this unique fire-rated door solution.
The result is a landmark installation that combines exceptional craftsmanship, innovative engineering, and regulatory compliance within a truly distinctive architectural feature.
